Game adaptations for anime are sometimes hit or miss for me. Depending on the anime, I feel like certain adaptations are just overdone. Dragon Ball Z does well, as does One Piece, but a lot are half-baked attempts to capture the source material. In 2024, Fairy Tail had a big year with both Fairy Tail Dungeons and Fairy Tail 2. Fairy Tail 2 is an RPG developed by Gust and published by Koei Tecmo.

It’s also the namesake of a game that’s seen release on Steam and is gearing up for a PlayStation 5 release on October 4th, 2024. With a premise of searching for your love that’s been lost in foreign territory, this sounds like the recipe of Resident Evil (more specifically, the excellent recent entries in VII and VIII).

Lifeless Moon (PS5) Review

I have sat on this review longer than I sit on most, and I honestly have no idea why. Perhaps I am worried that it will be empty in some way or missing bits of important information that should be included. It could also very well be the fact that the brevity of Lifeless Moon didn’t allow me to soak in the story enough, at least for me to fully understand what Stage 2 Studios was aiming for.

Like a Dragon (known also as Yakuza 7) was easily one of my favorite “Yakuza” games. It also happened to be a high point on my list of favorite RPGs of all time. Trinity Fusion (PS5) Review

As we’ve covered many Rogue-lites in the past, one such genre fusion I tend to shy away from is Metroidvania. While I find this meshing to be the most reliant upon RNG and brute forcing through some areas ignoring enemies to survive a run, it can still be executed well, such as in the case of Rogue Legacy 2 and Dead Cells. As such, I’m willing to give newcomer, Trinity Fusion, the old college try.
